Need a Topic for a Scholar Paper?

If at university or at work you are looking for a topic for an academic paper, then you can look for patterns in the results of our survey of almost a thousand people on the streets of Moscow in 2019. This data is legitimate, uploaded to Mendeley and has already been used in various publications.

It was the world’s first survey in which people were simultaneously asked about sleep duration, dream frequency, lucid dreams, sleep paralysis, false awakenings, and out-of-body experiences. As you can imagine, you can find many unique patterns.

The database contains 981 questionnaires and 29 columns of data with explanations (without personal data).

What has already been found and published: general distribution of phase phenomena, correlation of phase phenomena, correlation of phase phenomena with the recommended duration of sleep, female predisposition to certain phase states.

Imaging Reality Stabilizes Phase

What if lucid dreamers were to imagine that the space around them is the real physical world? Would this affect the lucidity of their sleep perception? These are the questions Russian researchers M. Raduga, Z. Zhunusova and A. Shashkov from the Phase Research Center set out to answer.

152 volunteers from “Project Elijah” were asked to enter the phase state and imagine that the space around them was the real physical world. They were then asked to report whether and how this affected the lucidity of their dream. 51% of participants achieved more vivid conscious dreams and more realistic sensations. 23% of them reached hyperrealism: the lucidity of their sensations was higher than after awakening.

More often than not, practitioners struggle with low lucidity of perception in lucid dreams, which makes it difficult to complete research tasks or achieve practical goals within the phase. Perhaps the results of the experiment will provide a new clue to understanding the techniques for maintaining and deepening lucid dreams. Moreover, this constitutes another step towards a more detailed understanding of phase tools and techniques.

The study was published in the October 2020 issue of the International Journal of Dream Researchhttps://journals.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/index.php/IJoDR/article/view/71168

Pain from Dreams Becomes Real in Wakefulness

We publish results from first ever experiment, in which 151 volunteers tried to transfer pain from lucid dreams into wakefulness. The research findings will go toward developing new form of pill-free pain management.

151 volunteers were instructed to enter a lucid dream, and there to picture themselves experiencing pain in their arms, following which they were required to wake up immediately. Of the participants, 74% achieved pain during lucid dreaming and 21% felt pain even after awakening. The study was conducted at Project Elijah, a Phase Research Center branch devoted to the investigation of lucid dreams, sleep paralysis, out-of-body experiences, etc. It was published in the peer-reviewed journal Dreaming, 30(3), 246–256. Authors: M.Raduga, Z.Zhunusova, A.Shashkov, & N.Sevcenko.

As the study’s lead author Michael Raduga explained, “the fact that a dreamer could induce pain consciously, without the presence of a physical cause, and then transfer it into a real, physical sensation indicates that the source of pain is the human brain itself and it can therefore be controlled through our consciousness. Furthermore, the psycho-physiological connection found between dreams and wakefulness could lead to new treatments for pain relief. Our study provides hope for people living with chronic pain, because the results may lead to the development of new, revolutionary types of pain management, totally free of pharmaceuticals.

NDE Simulating Experiment

“For the first time, we can not only collect and analyze near-death experiences, but also deliberately reproduce them. This achievement casts doubt on many earlier theories regarding the nature of this phenomenon.”

(This is a preliminary report. The full report will be published after all the experiments related to this study have been completed)

REM sleep: A Cause of Near-Death Experiences

By Michael Raduga, founder and head of the OOBE Research Center.

Abstract

Study Objectives

Prove the implication of REM sleep in the occurrence of NDEs by artificially reproducing near-death experiences during REM sleep.

Participants

3 groups of 10-20 volunteers in Los Angeles (United States), Moscow (Russian Federation), and Saint Petersburg (Russian Federation), as well as several dozen lucid dreaming and out-of-body experience practitioners in a remote group.

Pinched Nose Reality Check When Aware of Phase

35 volunteers were asked to perform a test in the phase involving pinching the nose to the point where the airways are completely blocked. They would then have to try to breathe through it and report their results. The aim of the experiment was to see how often the pinched nose reality check works in the phase when a practitioner knows he is in it.

Out of the 35 volunteers, 25 managed to enter the phase and accomplish results that differed from one another. Out of the 25 accomplished volunteers, 19 (76%) were able to paradoxically breathe through a pinched nose, while the remaining 6 (24%) failed to do so and experienced impairment of respiration (but not so acute as to the point of suffocating).

Lucid Dreaming: A Cause of Religious Visions in the Bible

“Some might say that we have found God or discovered something about His nature. However, we only conducted this experiment in order to prove that the subject of our research can be found in ancient sources like the Bible. This has no bearing on religion itself. However, one may conjecture how wide an impact this phenomenon has had on all human culture and history”

(This is a preliminary report. The full report will be published after all the experiments related to this study have been completed)

By Michael Raduga, founder and head of the OOBE Research Center.

Abstract

Study Objectives

The goal of the study is to substantiate mention of lucid dreaming in the Bible.

Participants

30 volunteers, most without prior lucid dreaming experience (though some had had spontaneous experiences in the past).

Fear Related Statistic

The study shows that 30% of people experience fear during the first phase experience (OBE+lucid dreaming). There is no big gender difference (women 31% / men 29%). If people thought that their souls really leave their bodies, they have twice more chances to experience fear (rise from 23% to 47%). If people aren’t familiar with the phenomenon, they have almost twice more chances to get fear too (rise from 28% to 47%; only for spontaneous first experiences). If people do not see alive beings in the phase, they have on 55% more chances for fear (rise from 23% to 36%).

The study is based on statistic information from 771 people/1-74 yo/spontaneous and intentional phases (accuracy for all data is 85-90%).
